My new found love affair with Taylormade golf clubs

This summer I had the pleasure of falling in love ... not with a woman though. This is the story of how I fell in love with Taylormade golf clubs.

Every three years my family gets together for a reunion. This year we all decided to spend a week camping together. Now, I have 6 brothers and sitting in a campsite for 5 or 6 straight days is not something we are know to do. We are all quite active. When we were young it was hockey in the winter and baseball in the summer. We are all a little older now so our sport of choice is golf.

During our reunion, we had booked 2 days for golfing. On the first round, we were having a great time. As usual for me, I was struggling to hit the ball cleanly off the fairways. When you don't hit the fairway very often, you get less practice I guess.

Well, on one hole, my older brother and I happened to be at the same spot on the fairway looking at a rather nasty approach shot. We had about 200 yards to go with a small creek cutting across the fairway about 50 yards from the hole. I was staring at my clubs thinking what to pick when my brother handed my his Taylormade #5 fairway wood.

He said, just swing nice and easy. Don't try to kill the ball. The club has a natural fade so aim to the right of where you want to land the ball (we shoot left handed). Right, I thought. No problem.

So, I grab his club and take a few practice swings. Wow, a club has never felt so good in my hands. Ok, just a nice normal swing. Well, I hit the ball, and hit it well. It easily flew over the water hazard and bounced up to the edge of the green. The ball had flown with a nice draw just as my brother predicted. I was amazed and now in love.

My brother said "Give me back my club" as I was lusting over it now. I really didn't want to let go. I asked him where he bought them and he mentioned some place in the city he lives in. He paid extra to have them custom fit for his swing and body dimensions. If I remember correctly, the total was over $3,000. Ouch I thought. I cannot afford that.

But the problem now is I really want new clubs. I have never hit the ball so easily and effortlessly before. My old clubs no longer thrill me and so I have begun my quest to find affordable Taylormade golf clubs online. See, my brother is not much into computers and I bet I am going to be able to find a better deal than he got.

And I think so far, I have found the best place. Amazon.com has a wide selection of Taylormade clubs. The prices are very good (especially when you consider that you get free shipping with Amazon). Also, amazon is a place I trust to deliver my clubs both quickly and without damage. And if you are looking for cheap clubs, you can even find used clubs at Amazon.

So, my next problem to solve is coming up with the money to afford a new set. Or maybe I will start off by getting some new drivers or fairway woods and then some irons. Who knows. Time will tell I guess.
